After cleaning, how soon can I walk on my carpet?

Immediately right after cleaning. We supply you and your family with plastic booties for your feet. We also recommended to lay down towels on the hard surface areas such as tile or hard wood flooring before entering onto the damp carpet. (Then put your booties on)

How long does it take to dry?

Depending upon the weather, approximately 8 hours.

It’s raining; can I still clean my carpet?

Yes, the dry time is still the same if not faster (Why). Because we recommend to turn heater to 75 and open windows approximately 2 inches. This will allow the humidity to escape while pressurizing the home with the heater on.

What is two-step cleaning & why it is recommended by most carpet manufacturers such as Shaw Industries, the largest Carpet manufacturer?

Most carpet cleaning companies run carpet cleaning solution directly from their trucks and they never rinse it. It looks great when finished but the leftover carpet cleaning solutions act as a magnet for dirt and your carpet looks dirty within a few months.

The carpet cleaning process is no different than washing your hair, clothes or car. Just like when you wash your hair or car, you apply shampoo or detergent respectively and then rinse it out. Imagine if you didn’t rinse it and just let it dry? When you do that to carpets, they look clean but it leaves a sticky residue which tends to get dirty quicker.

We use a two-step cleaning process. First, a pre-conditioning cleaning spray to loosen soil, then a combination of a hot water fiber rinse with a powerful vacuum to extract and remove both the cleaning solution and the dirt. This process keeps your carpet cleaner 3 times longer than other processes. This is why it is recommended by most carpet manufacturing companies.

I’ve heard that once you clean a carpet it gets dirty quicker. Is that true?

Not with our Two-Step Clean system. Residue that gets left in the carpet from inferior cleaning processes is what causes rapid re-soiling. Our two-step cleaning process uses pressurized hot water and advanced cleaning agents to loosen soil. Then we remove the dirt and the cleaning solution with clear water rinse and a powerful vacuuming from truck mount system, leaving your carpets soft and clean.

When you clean my carpet, does the padding or sub-floor get wet?

No. Our Two-Step Cleaning system uses a very powerful, deep-cleaning fiber rinse; the system extracts the cleaning solution and the dirt very effectively in the same step. That gets your carpets as clean as possible while leaving your padding and sub-floor dry.

I’ve heard water can ruin carpets. Is that true?

No. What harms carpet is poor quality machinery that doesn’t remove enough of the water to allow the carpet to go through the drying process properly.

Does Carpet Protector really work?

Absolutely. Carpet protector is an outstanding product that Surfside Carpet Cleaning recommends highly. In fact, most new carpet has protector on it – applied by the carpet manufacturer. However, protector wears off because of traffic on the carpet, frequent vacuuming, etc.

Why is professional cleaning important?

Vacuuming does not remove all the soil or you have not been able to remove spots following the recommended carpet care and cleaning procedures, it’s time to have your carpet cleaned by professional cleaner. For this reason, we and most carpet manufacturers’ warranties require periodic professional cleaning at least twice a year.

How can I maintain my new carpet’s warranty?

There are three key things to do to maintain your new carpet warranty:

1. Vacuum frequently

2. Clean spills promptly

3. Have periodic professional carpet cleanings

Will the cleaning solution harm my children or pets?

Our basic cleaning solution is very similar to laundry detergent. As a general rule, keep your children and pets away from lying or playing on wet carpet.

Do I have to be home while my carpet is being cleaned?

It is not necessary that you be home while your carpet is cleaned because our cleaning technicians are thoroughly trained professionals you can trust. In order to provide the best possible cleaning, we do recommend that someone is home before we begin cleaning to discuss any specific needs or areas of concern regarding the care of your carpet – and of course, to let us in the home.

Can both my area rug and the carpet that it sits on cleaned at the same time?

Yes. However, the area rug cannot dry over the wet carpet. The area rug will be draped over dry area.

What should I do if the stains that were cleaned reappear?

Although most stains that are removed from carpet do not reappear, deep stains in carpet backing or padding/subfloor may wick back to the surface. If this happens, just give us a call and we’ll clean the entire area for free, no questions ask.

One thing you can do to prevent that from happening is place a dry towel over any spots that have come back in the past, immediately after a carpet cleaning. The towel will help draw any oils and dirt that are trapped in your subflooring and help prevent the spots from returning.

What is the best time of the year to clean my carpet if fleas from pets are a concern?

It is recommended that Fall or Winter after the first frost is the best time to clean for fleas.

What is the most important reason to clean my carpet regularly?

You need to clean carpet regularly for durability, good look, and to help keep the indoor air quality which you breathe.

I’m considering buying one of those household, carpet cleaning machines. Won’t they do a good job of cleaning my carpets?

Those machines are fine to clean up spills and to keep the high-traffic areas looking clean between professional cleanings. But they are just not powerful enough to clean down to the base of the carpet where grit is wearing away at your fibers, or where the dust mites, bacteria and other goodies live in your carpets. Plus there’s no rinsing process to remove the residues left by the cleaning agents so your carpets may re-soil faster.

How come some companies only charge $99.95 for an entire house and you charge by the square foot? Isn’t your way more expensive?

Charging by the square foot is the most accurate and fair way to charge for carpet cleaning. You don’t pay for any more service than is required to thouroughly and professionally deep clean your carpets.

I cannot speak to the quality of a company that charges less than Surfside Carpet Cleaning. I can only treat your carpets as if they were my own and give you my personal guarantee that my company will get your carpets the cleanest they have ever been. It is also why I am one of the only carpet cleaning companies offering a “100% Satisfaction Guarantee” on all my work.

Someone told me that I shouldn’t have my carpets cleaned because they will re-soil more quickly. Is this true?

Steam extraction cleaning technology has come a long way, especially in the last 10 years! It’s improving even as you read this! At one time residues did pose a re-soiling problem but, like any other industry, the problems were addressed and corrected with rinsing agents and more powerful vacuums. If your current carpet cleaner isn’t rinsing when they extract the dirt how can they claim that no residues are being left behind?
